GIS (Geographical Information Science)
The GIS research activities are focusing on geographical data mining applied to environment-health issues, exposure assessment and impact of sociodemographic determinants on health, and geoinformatics with emphasis on geographical data modelling and geographical database management.
Geodesy/GNSS
The Geodesy/GNSS research are focusing on kinematic applications of Precise Point Positioning, modeling and monitoring the Ionosphere, estimating Oceanloading effects based on gravimetry and GNSS. Further there is activity on concerning GNSS/INS intergration and indoor GNSS.
Gravity
Regional and local gravity changes with time are observed and analysed with groundbased gravimeters and data from satellite gravimetry missions (GRACE and GOCE). Airborne gravimetry are made for methodological and climate change related research.
Satellite remote sensing/photogrammetry
Satellite remote sensing is applied to change detection, and aerial and terrestrial photogrammetry to construction of terrainmmodels.

Geophysics / Glaciology
Geophysical topics are post glacial rebound measured using an absolute gravimeter and national networks of permanent GPS and tide gauge stations, and glaciological mass balance and ice dynamics studies using meteorological data, photogrammetry and remote sensing. The geophysical research covers Fennoscandia, with particular focus on high northern latitudes and the Arctic.
