Brief Description:

Reference to scalar structure and measures of various kinds are pervasive across syntactic categories. In this seminar we take a close look at the phenomenon as it bears on adjectives, and  in so doing we hope to shed light on the internal syntactic and semantic anatomy of the adjectival extended projection. Along the way, we will address questions concerning the relationship between A and the functional sequences established for V, P and even N; and the relationships between syntax, semantics and morphology.

General lectures will take place on Tuesday afternoons 2-4  in alternate weeks. In the weeks that there is no lecture, there will be a more detailed/participatory ‘lab' session on Monday afternoons from 2-4.
