Guidelines for Presentations

Guildelines for poster presentations

Available space for posters is 75 cm wide and 2 meters high. Please make the font easily readable at a distance – 18 or more.

Please provide handouts/paper.

The posters exhibition will be open all day Thursday. It is recommended that you put up your poster Wednesday evening or Thursday morning. Your poster will be visited by a discussant between 1045 and 1200.

Guildelines for roundtable discussions

Time available for your roundtable discussion is 35 minutes. There will be space for between 10 and 20 people at the table. The purpose of the roundtable discussion is to discuss a specific issue raised in your paper.

A recommended outline for a roundtable session is a brief introduction (ten minutes) introducing questions for discussion, 20 minutes for discussion, and a brief summary at the end.

Please bring a focused handout of your paper for the participants. You are also invited to make full copies of your paper available to the audience.

Structure of paper sessions

The papers are divided into themes (see Programme).

Each session is 90 or 60 minutes and will include three or two papers, respectively. Each presenter has maximum 20 minutes for presenting the paper. The rest of the session time is for discussion of the papers by the discussant and the audience.

The first presenter in each session will also act as the chair of the session with the main responsibility for introducing and timing the speakers. The discussant leads the discussion.
