Finished masters degree thesises.

The study Drama, Film and Theatre was started in 1974, and from 1978 the department of the same name was founded. From 1990 the course in drama, film and theatre was replaced by separate courses in drama/theatre and film. The film study has two variants: one practical/theoretical and one theoretical. The study in drama/theatre is practical/theoretical. Since then the department has expanded further, with Media Studies from the spring of 1994, and History of Arts, from the autumn of 1997. From the spring of 1997 the department changed its name to Department of Art and Media Studies.

In addition to common auditoriums with the other studies at the University Centre of Dragvoll, the department has its own premises with (a/o.) two drama/theatre studios/scenes, theatre workshop, television studio, sound studio and several editing suites for video.

Presently the department has 700-800 students.
