Bodø International (BI) is the student organisation for international students in Bodø. Its members comprise an amazing number of countries and cultures. BI was formed to provide these students with an opportunity to meet others who share similar and/or diverse backgrounds because all share the mutual goal of learning to get along well in a new country. BI strives to make students feel comfortable and to give them another forum to socialize outside academic life. We want to create a good living atmosphere and pleasant memories when studies are finished. BI arranges a full spectrum of activities, events, and happenings with everything from Coffee Hours at Samfunnet to a trip to Svalbard (an island off of the extreme northern coast of Norway where one can see polar bears).

BI also hosts its annual "International Food and Beer Festival" in which international students make their favorite dishes from home for the rest of the students and faculty. Samfunnet orders beers from around the world. In recent years, this has become an extremely popular event, and tickets are hard to come by. Order early! All of the proceeds go towards Bodø International's other events.

BI has the following goals:

• To create an organization that can be used as a network between international students on campus.
• To develop a bond between various cultures. By participating in events with other student organizations it facilitates the development of a diverse, yet united, community.
• To make the international students more visible. New activities encourage more students to get involved and make international students seen and heard.
• To be more than just parties. We provide advice and support; try to help potential students with information and practical advice before coming to Bodø.

If you have any questions about studies, weather, language or any other things that interest you, do not hesitate to contact us.

Looking forward to seeing you in Bodø!
