This unique report summarizes the Better Resource Utilization (BRU) project's fact finding mission of 2005. We asked advice of the petroleum industry, contacting 50 oil companies, many service companies, relevant organizations, and governing authorities. NTNU obtained invaluable insight, input and inspiration, and we felt that the entire Norwegian Petroleum Cluster appreciated this initiative. Having openly discussed the future challenges on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and the needs and priority areas for each individual company, the report, among other things, outlines findings, challenges, strategic conclusions, and recommendations for future R&D priorities in the field of petroleum research.
