Master in Literacy Studies

Is the book an endangered species? Are sms-messages destroying the English language? What were medieval books like? How do children learn to read and write? Who was Shakespeare and does it matter? What does reading do to our minds?

The Masters Programme in Literacy Studies offers a unique, crossdisciplinary approach to the subject of literacy: the study of books, reading, writing and the written text. The programme is run entirely in English, and we aim at providing highquality instruction in a fairly small but dynamic research environment with many international links. Students who have completed the programme will be awarded the title of Master in Literacy Studies. The programme is useful for a wide variety of careers within areas such as education, the media, libraries, publishing and cultural administration. A doctoral programme in Literacy Studies is currently under planning.
