Reference Manager and Word
If you install RefMan after installing Word, RefMan commands appear on an RefMan submenu of the Tools menu in Word (
Tools : Reference Manager). Your can also use the corresponding RefMan toolbar in Word for easy access (
View : Toolbars : Reference Manager).
If the toolbar and menu don't appear in Microsoft Word, the solutions to your problems are well defined on the
RefMan FAQs.
Import filters
For databases that do not enable full search options from RefMan, or when complete search functionality shall be maintained, it is possible to export references to a text file, which then can be imported into RefMan. This procedure requires an import filter in RefMan, which defines how the references are formatted. It is important to use the correct filter.
The RefMan software comes with several import filters.
Additional RefMan import filters are available for download from the RefMan support site.
