EndNote is a tool for organisation, storage and use of references.
References are sources of information that are used when writing reports, articles and student assignments.
They refer to books, journal articles, internet pages etc. with precise information about the source.
You can store your references in a personal database and transfer them to your Word-document. In the document you can insert citations in the text, and make reference lists in numerous styles. At HiM we use the Harvard-system.
The references can be registered manually. You can search directly in other databases from EndNote, and you can import data from many of our databases.
HiM has access to EndNote in two versions:
1. EndNoteX is for employees and students on master and doctor degree level. A CD for installation on personal computers can be borrowed at the library. The program is also installed at some computers in the library.
2. EndNoteWeb is for all employees and students. You get access from the ISI Web of knowledge database.
Use the HELP-meny from EndNoteWeb, where you also can find a tutorial.
