UiB's Semester Startup Help Desk offers practical semester startup assistance to newly arrived international students. We're located on the ground floor of the Student Centre, right next to the SiB Housing Reception.

Opening hours for the spring semester 2016 will be announced here.

If you arrive in Bergen after we have closed for the semester, you may contact The Division of Student Affairs by e-mail (exchange-students@uib.no, master@uib.no or quota@uib.no) to make an individual appointment. We will then help you get started on the semester startup practicalities and hand you your welcome envelope.

 Semester Startup Help Desk Services:

  • General campus guidance
  • Assistance in using UiB's online services
  • Welcoming of new students and handing out welcome information envelopes
  • Guidance on semester registration and how to obtain an ICT user account
  • Signup for tuberculosis testing
  • Receiving Travel Claim Forms for Quota students
  • Guidance to Quota Students when applying to the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen)

 UiB’s faculty information centres can help you with:

  • Learning Agreements
  • Confirmation of Arrival/Departure Forms
  • Study related matters about courses, examinations etc.
  • Other study related questions
