The title of the seminar was ‘It must be abstract’, inspired by the poem by Wallace Stevens. The seminar was held at The Norwegian Seamens’ church. The Ph.d students presented their work, and commented each others’ presentations. Talks were given by Susan Squire, Jon Elster, Simon Critchley, Stuart Moulthrop, and Mel Bochner. The seminar also included a visit to MoMa, where Stian Grøgaard from the Art Academy of Oslo guided us through the history of modern art.
