01.08.05 - Gustav Vaaje-Kolstad gets receives the honour of "article of the week" for his latest article describing the function of chitin binding protein CPB21 in Journal of Biological Chemistry. Se more here.

28.04.05 - Master student Ellinor Heggset and Ph.D student Ingunn Alne Hoell have succeeded in refolding a chitinase from pine tree (with 16 cysteins!!) from inclusion bodies. This must be said to be a big breakthrough - as protein production is a vitally important (and limiting) element in proteomics. The work was done in collaboration with Skogforsk.
18.04.05 - The group is now involved in a new EU project that deals with making useful compounds from brewers spent grain (in other words, waste products). Follow this link to the project homepage.
