F-Secure Anti-Virus

All student are required to use F-Secure Anti-Virus in order to access the internet from SiÅs flats, or from study-rooms at campus.

To install, run F-secure Anti-Virus. When the installation is finished, you'll have to reboot your computer.


If you have Yahoo and/or Google toolbar installed on your computer, these have to be unistalled in order to install F-Secure.


Both installing and the first update of F-Secure may take som time, so please be patient.

IMPORTANT!!


REMOVE ALL TRACES OF PREVIOUS ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE BEFORE YOU INSTALL F-Secure. OTHERWISE YOUR COMPUTER WILL CRASH! F-Secure will not function together with ZoneAlarm!


How to uninstall Norton AV


If you use Norton antivirus, the following components must be removed trough add/remove programs (in Control Panel) before F-secure installation:
Livereg (symantec corporation), Livereg 2.x (symantec corporation), Norton antivirus 200x. If you experience problems with uninstalling Norton AntiVirus or it's components, you may have to run Norton remover


IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO USE THIS IF YOU CAN REMOVE IT THE NORMAL WAY TROUGH ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.

If you are experiencing problems with removing other anti-virus software you can try accessing information on the homepage of the developer.

As a last resort you can visit our office in the Technical Department. Our openinghours are from 8am to 4pm monday to friday.
