Applications will be processed in the order the Norwegian Foreign Service Mission receives them. However, there are a number of things you can do yourself in order to reduce the processing time:
- Read instructions carefully
- Apply well in time before the intended journey.
If you need your passport for travel whilst applying for a visa, you can submit ‘Certified True Copies’ of relevant pages in your passport (pages with personal information and visas) and submit the original passport when you return. ‘Certified True Copies’ can be made at Norwegian Foreign Service Missions, including Honorary Consulates.
You can apply for a visa although you do not know the exact date you intend to travel.
- Fill in all the required sections in the application form.
- Write personal details identical to how it is written in your passport
- Make sure all references are available to be contacted
- Submit all the required documents ASAP. Avoid e-mails and scanned documents. Ensure documents are on headed paper (if applicable), are duly signed and are dated less than 3 months ago.
- Provide a daytime contact telephone number or alternatively an e-mail address you check regularly.
