Call Handling

Call Handling Window

The Call Handling feature is available if Call Handling license is granted. Clicking the Call Handling link on the ECA menu opens the Call Handling window, providing the following features.

*   Quick Dial
*   Hang Up
*   Toggle Talking and Holding
*   Transfer
*   Conference Calls
*   Display Call Status

The Call Handling window provides the ability to place a call without being on an ECA page. The Call Handling window opens automatically upon call arrival. This feature also updates the call status in real time. Through this window, the user can view call status (Talking, Holding or Conference, call starting time, and called party), hang up call, transfer call, initiate conference call, and send DTMF tone via icons provided.

Quick Dial combo box

You may enter a new name or number, or select from the drop-down list. This list saves the last 10 dialled numbers or names. If you redial the same name or number, it will move to the last position. To search on First Name, it must be preceded by a comma delimiter like ,John. You can also clear the Quick Dial box and click the Dial button (see below) to invoke the Dial Pad. Dial the number using the Dial Pad and click the Dial button to initiate the call.

Dial

Clicking this button dials the number you entered or selected in the Quick Dial combo box. If you enter a name in the combo box and click this button, the corporate directory is searched for matching names. If there is only one match, the call is placed immediately. If there is more than one match, the Directory Search page is displayed and all matching results appear in the Directory Search Matches table. Click the desired phone number to initiate the call.

Hang-up

Click this button to disconnect the current call ( Talking).

Call Status Display

The Call Status display shows all call events for the calls that you have connected to. You can switch between Talking and Holding by selecting a different call. All involved members of a Conference are highlighted at the same time.

Transfer

Clicking this button when you have only one connected call in talking state, you will be prompted to search for a person to transfer to. Clicking No will take you back to the Call Handling window. Clicking Yes will take you to the Directory Search page to initiate a search and dial the desired person. You will then be prompted to transfer the call in holding state to the new call initiated. Click Yes to transfer the call or Cancel to not transfer the call.

Clicking this button when you have two or more calls connected, you will be prompted to transfer the current call in talking state to the first call placed on hold. Click Yes to transfer the call. You will be disconnected from the two calls. Clicking No will prompt you to transfer to the next connected call, if any, or prompt you to search for a person to transfer to if there is no more call on hold. The Call Handling window will close if there are no more calls on hold.

This button is enabled when there are one or more calls connected. This button is disabled when you are not connected to a call or on a conference call.

Conference

Clicking this button, you will be prompted to start a conference with the current call in talking state and the first call put on hold. Click Yes to start the conference. Click No will return to the Call Handling window. You can add more people to the conference by dialing a number or switching the existing call on hold to talking state and then clicking the Conference button. You can add up to eight (8) parties in the conference call.

This button is enabled when there are two or more connected calls. This button is disabled when you are not connected to a call, on a conference call, or the call is on hold.

Key Pad

Clicking the Key Pad button will bring up a keypad display that allows sending of DTMF tones during a call.

This button is enabled when you are connected to a call.
