Directory Search

Directory searches may be performed on D.N.A. directories, External directories, LDAP directories, Personal Contacts, or all directories simultaneously. The Directory drop-down list contains all the searchable directories available for your site. The Corporate internal directory is selected by default. The page is refreshed when you select a different directory.

The following is an example of a Directory drop-down list.

   All Directories
   Internal Directory (Local DNA internal directory which can be defined by administrator)
   DNA [Richardson Office]
   External Directory (Local DNA external directory which can be defined by administrator)
   External [Richardson Office]
   LDAP [Ericsson Global Directory]
   LDAP [Ericsson Brea]
   Personal Contacts

The controls in the Directory Search area enable you to initiate a search on any directory and further narrow the search criteria. The two Search drop-down lists contain all the fields you can search based on the directory selected from the Directory drop-down list. The field selected in the top list is the primary search field. The field selected in the bottom list is the secondary search field, which narrows the search. You can also search on the secondary search field only without using primary search field. The edit boxes to the right of the drop-down lists are where you enter the search criteria for the selected search fields. Clicking the Search button or pressing the Enter key initiates a search with the results displayed in the Directory Search Matches table.

To initiate a search

1	Select the desired directory from the Directory drop-down list.
2	Select the primary search field from the top Search drop-down list and enter the primary search criteria in the edit box to the right.
3	To narrow the search, select the secondary search field from the bottom Search drop-down list and enter the secondary search criteria in the edit box to the right. You can omit the primary search field and use secondary search field only to initiate the search.
4	Press Enter or click the Search button.

ECA can handle up to 1,000 matches from the search. By default, 20 rows are displayed in the Directory Search Matches table. You may change the number of rows displayed to any value between 20 and 200 in the Personal Option page. If there is more than one page in the result list, a maximum of 5 page numbers will show at both the top and bottom of the result list. Upon clicking the page number link, you will be taken to the selected page. If there are more than 5 pages, use the Next and Previous buttons to access next and previous page.
