LDAP Search

An LDAP directory is a directory published on the network, compliant with the Internet standard Lightweight Directory Access Protocol. LDAP directories may be published by a partner company, the local phone company, or an Internet service provider. They are simply on-line phone books. As search criteria, you may choose from the following ten "search by" fields, and combine any two of them in a single search.

*   Full Name
*   Middle Name
*   Department Name
*   Phone Number
*   Fax Number
*   Mobile Number
*   Pager Number
*   E-mail Address
*   Home Phone Number
*   Room Number

For an LDAP directory search, the Directory Search Matches table displays the results in the Name field, the Phone Number field, and two drop-down list fields. Within the drop-downs you can select from the same fields used for search criteria (except for Full Name and Phone Number). Clicking on a hyperlinked phone number will dial that number. Search is submitted automatically and returns your search after selecting another field.

The Additional Numbers icon appears next to the phone number when the entry has more than one phone number. Clicking on this icon opens a new page where all the numbers are displayed. Clicking on a hyperlinked phone number will dial that number.

If there are multiple E-mail addresses, a page containing all addresses will be displayed. Clciking on an E-mail address starts the default E-mail application with the mail address you clicked on as the recipient.

Viewing subscriber details and sending text messages are not applicable for LDAP directory search.
