Support to the users
A Transnational Access grant
offers single guest researchers and research groups:
- Free use of the ENGAS
installations, i.e. experimental units, laboratory space and
office space. Guest researchers will have access to e-mail,
internet and standard office amenities such as telephone,
fax and copy machine, as well as to the NTNU library. They
will also have the right to participate in lectures,
seminars, colloquia etc. If required, the users can also be
given access to the 1 Tera-flop
super computer at NTNU.
- Scientific, technical and
logistic support during the access period. Upon a positive
project evaluation, one local researcher responsible for the
installation(s) to be used will be appointed as the contact
person for each approved user application. Discussions
between the contact person and the group leader well ahead
of the access period, will reveal the need for instruments,
chemicals, tools, scientific and technical assistance as
well as the most suitable period for visiting. The
Infrastructure co-ordinator will assist new researchers and
will act as a helping hand with respect to administrative
tasks.
- Reimbursement of
international travel expenses of one return journey from the
home institution to Trondheim. Travel costs will also be
covered when attending user meetings organised by ENGAS. For
any travel outside the EU and Associated States, the prior
agreement of the EC is required.
- Free accommodation within
the city of Trondheim at one of the University apartments or
guesthouses allocated for guest researchers. These are all
furnished and fully equipped, and are easily reached by
foot, bus, bicycle (made freely available for users of the
infrastructure) or car.
- A fixed daily subsistence
fee of 30 € (about
240 NOK) during the visiting period, including
weekends and public holidays.
