Plan of Action for Students with Disabilities
The plan is only available in Norwegian (chapter by chapter, on the right side of this page) - this is a short summary in English.
The University of Tromsø aims to be "accessible for everyone”. The Plan of action for the university's work concerning adaptations for students with disabilities 2006-2008 has defined objectives and steps for adaptations in the following areas:
- Physical adaptations
- Accessibility to teaching
- Living conditions and social activities
- Information technology
- Safety
- Students with psychological and social problems
The adaptations are primarily designed to ensure that physical environment and teaching is formed in such a way that everyone can participate. The aim is to make the necessary adaptations so that any disadvantages the disability causes are rectified to the greatest extent possible.
Each faculty/NFH has a designated contact person for students with disabilities, who students should contact in the event that such adaptations are necessary. The university"s student advisor for international students can provide more detail on the content of the plan of action and, where necessary, co-operate with the contact people.
The Learning Environment Committee also has a special responsibility to follow up this plan.
