Becoming an interaction designer I investigate how interaction designers learn and develop professional competence through structured educational settings in their work. Crossing Institutional Practices in Teacher Education The project studies how student teachers act and interact in institutional practices in teacher education and how these are sustained or adjusted when people work at the boundaries. EduAction - Students' knowledge constructions in science using computer-based 3D models studies the characteristics of 15 year old students' interactions while solving different tasks within ICT based learning resources. Handheld technology use in school: PhD project Many children have access to handheld and mobile technologies. What happens when these technologies enter the classroom? ICT and new learning environments The key question in this project is centred on how to establish a learning environment in schools where ICT is integrated in a way that is perceived as favourable for both the learners and the teachers. Knowledge Construction Across Work Contexts My focus is on the collective of knowledge construction in work life and the design and use of ICT-tools as mediating means in everyday work and learning Learning and ICT in Science Education The project focus on students' meaning making of socioscientific issues in ICT mediated learning environments. The empirical basis of the study is constituted by analyses of secondary school students' interactions when working in small groups using the computermediated learning environments FLE2 and Viten.no Learning and ICT in Media Education Classrooms The project is focusing on use of digital technology in media-education. The analysis is drawing attention to classroom conventions in using digital technology and how teachers/learners relate to these rules when engaged in instructional procedures. Mediational Sites: A Communication Design Perspectives on Websites This Ph.D. project examines websites as digitally mediated and multimodal expressions in terms of communication design through textual analysis.
